{"id":5452,"date":"2012-06-24T21:22:59","date_gmt":"2012-06-25T04:22:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/palblog.fxpal.com\/?p=5452"},"modified":"2012-06-24T21:22:59","modified_gmt":"2012-06-25T04:22:59","slug":"invited-talk-at-catch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.fxpal.net\/?p=5452","title":{"rendered":"Invited talk at CATCH"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thanks to <a title=\"Frank Nack\" href=\"http:\/\/fnack.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Frank Nack<\/a> and <a title=\"Marc Bron Home page\" href=\"http:\/\/staff.science.uva.nl\/~mbron\/\" target=\"_blank\">Marc Bron<\/a>, last week I had the opportunity to give a talk in The Netherlands at a NWO CATCH <a title=\"CATCH Meeting by BRIDGE on 22 June 2012 | NWO\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nwo.nl\/nwohome.nsf\/pages\/NWOP_8UYEKF\" target=\"_blank\">event<\/a> organized by BRIDGE. NWO is the Dutch national research organization; <a title=\"BRIDGE: Building Rich Links To Enable Television History Research | University of Amsterdam\" href=\"http:\/\/ilps.science.uva.nl\/node\/735\" target=\"_blank\">BRIDGE<\/a> is a project that explores access to television archives; and CATCH stands for\u00a0Continuous Access To Cultural Heritage, which is something like an umbrella organization. The meeting was held at the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision in Hilversum, a rather interesting building.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/palblog.fxpal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/IMG_28182.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5464\" title=\"Interior of the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision in Hilversum\" src=\"http:\/\/palblog.fxpal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/IMG_28182.jpg\" alt=\"Interior of the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision in Hilversum\" width=\"432\" height=\"576\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Although it was a long way to go for a one-day event, I am grateful to Frank and Marc for the invitation, for their efforts as hosts, and for all the great discussion during the talk, in the breaks between sessions, and, of course, over beers in the evening.
