Marker-based tags and RFIDs employ a modification of the printed document. Content-based solutions remove the physical tag entirely and link using features of the existing printed matter. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fxpal.com\/?p=liao\">Chunyuan<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fxpal.com\/?p=denoue\">Laurent<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fxpal.com\/?p=gene\">Gene<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fxpal.com\/?p=liu\">Qiong<\/a>, and I recently <a href=\"http:\/\/www.computer.org\/portal\/web\/csdl\/doi\/10.1109\/MPRV.2010.15\">published a paper in IEEE Pervasive Computing magazine<\/a> that explores the two tag types\u2019 use and design trade-offs by comparing our experiences developing and evaluating two systems\u00a0 that use marker-based tagging &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/fxpal.com\/?p=dynamink\">DynamInk<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/portal.acm.org\/citation.cfm?id=1095074\">PapierCraft<\/a> &#8212; with two systems that utilize content-based tagging &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fxpal.com\/?p=abstract&amp;abstractID=550\">Pacer<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fxpal.com\/?p=abstract&amp;abstractID=550\">ReBoard<\/a>.
